Noise when accelerating

recently i noticed a weir noise when i accelerate which sounds like a deep and muted thump. I'm not a mechanic but i believe i shouldn't hear it. Is this normal, common or if i should take it to the dealer? To be fair i plan to take it to the dealer bu i hope someone here can give me a bit more info on this

Ok, I've experienced the same thing but I didn't get a chance to take it to my trusted mechanic yet because what happened was it went on for days and then just disappeared. I'm probably gonna take it the next time it happens, but hopefully not. If you're worried, the best thing to do is take it to the mechanic still because we'll never know where ignoring that warning could take us.
