ive spent a little over 20k carless miles with my colorado and recently noticed a weird clunk when i accelerate so im sitting at a stop, hit the gas and hear a clunk and it doesnt happen untill the next stop.

Anyone had something similar happen?

Actually, that clunk you're hearing sounds a lot like a common issue with driveline slack. On Colorados, it's usually the slip yoke in the driveshaft causing that. When you stop, the yoke can stick a bit as the suspension compresses, then when you hit the gas again, it releases and makes that clunk sound.
GM's been dealing with this for years, even back in the early 2000s with Silverados and Sierras . same problem, same sound. Some folks grease the slip yoke, but honestly, that's usually just a temporary fix. If it gets worse or annoys you enough, swapping to a nickel-plated slip yoke can solve it for good.
Might wanna check your transmission mount and U-joints too! sometimes they wear out and cause similar noises.
