Missing 4WD indicator fix before winter

While getting my truck ready for winter, i came across a weird issue I thought i'd share. Its not cold yet, but I was testing things out and did a remote start with some heavy tool bags on the back seat. All the rear seatbelt warnings lit up. When I got in, I noticed the truck was stuck in 4H and the 4wd mode indicator was completely missing from the dash, none of the buttons worked. Someone suggested to unbuckle rear seat belts could cause this, so I buckled all 3, restarted the truck, and the 4WD indicator came back. Everything worked fine after that. Just something to keep in mind while getting ready for winter.

That's a great catch, thanks for sharing! I had a similar moment last fall when I loaded up my 2019 Z71's back seat with camping gear and got random dash alerts. Never would've guessed seatbelt sensors could mess with 4WD indicators. Buckling the belts as a quick fix is a smart move!

Glad it helped!! Did you notice if it only happened when all the seats were loaded, or could just one unbuckled belt trigger the 4wd indicator?
