Is there something wrong with my turbo boost testing?

hi all. Ihave a 3rd gen Colorado and i have recently bought a gauge to measure the turbo boost on it. i paid additional for high programming but this gauge on reads 20 psi, when it should be at around 27. 

am I doing something wrong with this? any help will be appreciated

maybe its end point is set at 20? honestly its really hard to depend on these tools, better drive it and feel it yourself, if youre not too satisfied then maybe have it tuned.

@springbeauty196 honestly before panicking about the psi difference you might want to double-check if the gauge itself was calibrated properly from the start because sometimes these aftermarket gadgets can have a mind of their own also how are you measuring the boost exactly is it while idling or under load because that makes a massive difference if you've been testing it at idle try revving it or even better test it during a spirited drive uphill then see if the numbers align closer to what you expected otherwise like @slushy08 said tuning might be your next best bet but first rule out the simple stuff.

Got a 3rd gen Colorado too, maybe your gauge might be reading boost over atmospheric so 20 psi could actually be 35 total, or... it's not just tapped into the right line. Could also be a display limit from the tune, so try to double, check the setup and settings.

Hey, I'm not sure if this has been fixed or something but though I'd chime in ..
I second @MatrixRespawner99, you might have a calibration issue or the gauge isn't reading the full range.
It's also worth confirming the gauge's max reading capability with the seller, just to rule out a hardware limitation.

Sounds like the new boost gauge isn't showing the full picture. I had the same issue. checked the gauge's max PSI rating in the manual first. cause even with 'high programming,' the gauge itself might only go to 20
